Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Text entered into a sponsored search tool is sent to the provider operating that tool. Livingston County Court Docket does not maintain a local log of the name or case number placed in that provider’s form.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If an email is sent to the resource, the message and its contact details may be retained to handle the correspondence. They are not disclosed outside the organization except when disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Servers and service providers can receive ordinary technical information when a page loads.
- Device IP address
- Browser and browser version
- Device and operating-system information
- Visited pages and time spent on them
- Referring page, when supplied
- Page-view timestamps
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies and analytics may be used to understand site performance and aggregate traffic patterns. Browser controls can block cookies, although a service may not work in the same way when those controls are active.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and communication information is used to operate, secure, improve, and diagnose the resource and to pass a search request to the provider selected by the user.
- Maintain page delivery and security
- Measure aggregate site performance
- Resolve technical problems
- Manage a communication sent to the resource
- Support advertising or referral services where used
No Court-Record Data on File
Livingston County Court Docket does not host, compile, sell, or maintain an official docket database or third-party case file database. It supplies general routing information for Michigan public court records. Public court access is controlled by MCR 8.119 and MCR 1.109, while the responsible Livingston clerk or court decides access to a particular file. The resource is not a consumer reporting agency and does not assemble visitor activity into reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the sponsored search tools that may appear on content pages. Information submitted to a provider is governed by that provider’s own terms, privacy practices, retention choices, and security controls. Review those materials before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links can lead to Michigan courts, Livingston County clerks, MiCOURT, or external services. Once a visitor leaves this resource, the receiving organization’s policy governs the visit. Advertising partners may conduct their own measurement or interest-based activity on their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be processed by service providers that support operation of the resource or where a valid legal requirement requires disclosure.
- A search provider receiving a submitted query
- Analytics and hosting providers
- Advertising or referral providers used on a page
- Government bodies or courts responding to valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used for information under the resource’s control. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, and visitors should use care before transmitting personal information through any external form.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Court access materials also carry their own restrictions for juvenile and protected records, which are not available through a generic public search.
Your Data Rights
Privacy rights can vary by location and service. For Livingston County court records, access is governed by Michigan’s court-record rules rather than a general county FOIA request: MCR 8.119 addresses public access, MCR 1.109 addresses redaction of personal information, and MCL 15.232(h)(iv) excludes the judiciary from the Michigan FOIA public-body definition. A visitor can request access to personal data held by this resource where applicable, ask that inaccurate contact information be corrected, and request deletion of information not required to be retained.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as operational practices change. The current version is published on this page.
